Isabelle and Noe Rouballay are beginning to pass the torch of Domaine Octavie to the young couple, Anaelle and Valentin. The family estate in Oisly is a beautiful country farm producing some excellent Sauvignon Blanc and Gamay in the Loire. The new owners are passionate about the vines and pay particular attention to the growing season to maximize maturity before harvest. The wines they produce exude their love of the land and the site they farm. It might be the "country cousin" to Sancerre, but it is available the reasonably priced.

The Story

Isabelle & Noe Rouballay have owned and run this charming small Domaine in southern Touraine on a plateau between the Loire and Cher rivers at Oisly for close to 30 years. They are 5^thgeneration and are now handing over responsibilities to Anaëlle and Valentin.

A Deeply Rooted History, A New Breath.

We are a young winemaking couple, Anaëlle and Valentin, and took over Domaine Octavie during the summer of 2024.

While our adventure is recent, Domaine Octavie is deeply rooted in the winemaking history of Oisly. Founded in 1885, it has been passed down through generations, cultivating a passion for wine and a respect for the terroir.

After ten years of experience as vineyard workers, we chose to take over this historic estate, committed to preserving its heritage while infusing it with new energy.

Our ambition: to perpetuate the expertise passed down for over a century, adapting it to the challenges of today.

The Wines

In the heart of the Loire Valley, our vineyards stretch across the rich soils of the Touraine and Touraine Oisly appellations. We produce a diverse range of wines from different grape varieties.

Sauvignon Blanc, the emblematic grape variety of our terroir, represents the majority of our production. Here, it expresses all its finesse, blending freshness and aromatic elegance.

We also vinify several red grape varieties: Gamay, Pineau d’Aunis, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Côt (Malbec), which give rise to red wines ranging from light fruitiness to the most structured, always in a spirit of finesse and balance.

We also offer a rosé Pineau d’Aunis, original and expressive, appreciated for its spicy aromas and refreshing deliciousness.

Each wine is the result of meticulous work, observation, and a balance between nature and expertise. Our ambition: to produce sincere, authentic wines, always focused on the pleasure of tasting.

The soil is sand over clay with small silex. Noe and Isabelle harvest at optimal maturity, de-stem and press directly. They let the juices settle in low temperature, stainless steel vats overnight where the wines stay on their fine lees until bottling. Isabelle & Noe’s wines are regularly recognized at national and international competitions.
