What can we say about France that hasn’t already been said. While Burgundy and Champagne have perfected Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Bordeaux has refined Cabernet and Merlot based blends, and the Loire has elevated Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, the country’s true magic extends far beyond these icons. We’re drawn to the “outside” locales—places where alternative Loire varieties like Pinot Noir and Gamay thrive, where the Languedoc produces rich yet vibrant wines, and where Chardonnay from often overlooked areas such as Mâcon and Ardèche shines with character and value. These are the regions that shaped our portfolio. And with so many special places still waiting to be explored, I fully intend to reach them all.
